The cuckoo clock is alive and well. How do you think they get all those holes in their cheese? The cheese is held in front of the clock, someone winds the hands round to 1 minute to 12 - and then - "cuckoo " "cuckoo " etc and that's another cheese done! Don't you know anything?

First of all, cuckoo clocks originated in the Black Forest which is in Germany. I have a neighbour who has a cuckoo clock. It's alive and well and sometimes when I'm sleeping very lightly, it wakes me up in the middle of the night! The Swiss are very active, they work hard, even if some of them have nothing to do! Most of the time the government looks for ways of getting all the advantages of being an EU member, without actually joining. The 'people' however are mostly against this. They are mostly against most things. Global warming AND reducing their carbon foot print.. They do, however, spend a lot of time sorting their rubbish and taking it to the nearest recycling station. No one's all bad.
